Pedicure Tips

After posting about manicure tips now i m gona post some of tips about pedicure that can be used at home.

Like the nails on your hand the nails on your feet too need to be taken care of. You can give yourself a pedicure at home. Given below are the steps to follow for a home pedicure.

 

 

• Remove old nail polish completely. Using cotton balls leaves traces of cotton on your nails try using cotton bands instead. Soak the cotton band with acetone remover and remove the old polish. If the color is not coming off the press the cotton on to the nail and let it soak for a while.
• It is always best to use high quality clippers to cut your toenails. Cut your nails straight across, leaving about 1/8" of length. Do not let your nail extend over the tip of your toe.
• For a soft square shape, file the nail around the corners in one direction. Use emory boards and not metal files, as metal files rip nails. The smoother surface is for smoothing the nail edge while the coarser surface is for shortening and shaping nails.
• Fill a big flat-bottom bowl with warm water. Add bath salts, aromatherapy oils or Epsom salts and let your feet soak for to minutes. The more calloused your feet are the longer they need to stay soaked. Add about quarter cup of milk to the warm water. Lactic acid in the milk loosens dead skin.
• Apply cuticle remove to the base of each nail and rub in. Wait for a minute and then using an orangewood stick, slowly push the skin back where it meets the nail.
• Use cuticle nippers to trim loose skin. Do not cut your toe flesh.
• Use an exfoliating body or foot scrub and a foot file or a wet pumice stone and remove the dead on the balls and heels of your feet. The idea is the smooth and not the remove. If your foot is turning bright red then stop. This means that you are scrubbing too hard.
• Dry your feet thoroughly including between the toes and apply nourishing foot cream. Rub the feet and rehydrate cuticles by rubbing a little cuticle oil.
• Use an acetone remover to get rid of the extra oils on the nails. Apply a thin base coat and using three strokes, one down the middle and one on each side. Do not paint cuticles. Apply three coats totally and then apply a thin topcoat. Use orangewood stick wrapped in cotton dipped in nail polish remover to remove excess nail polish.
• Let your nails dry completely before you wear shoes.

In addition, many women are forgoing their weekly trip to their professional nail technician and are doing their nails at home. However, knowing how to properly buff and prepare their nails can be a challenge. If not done correctly, you can actually damage your nails. So, take a look at these easy steps and learn the correct way to buff nails. Use Salon Products and Tools There are thousands of nail products on the market today and knowing which tools you need to properly buff your nails can be tricky. However, if you visit your local beauty store you will need to pick up only a few products. First, a handheld nail buffer is essential on your list of supplies. These look similar to emery boards; however they have several different colored panels and appear more like a foam block. You may also want to grab a few bottles of colored polish or OPI polish in French white if you’d like to give yourself a French manicure. Before Filing or Buffing….. Before you start filing away at your nails, there are a few things you should do first. Be sure to remove all old polish with a gentle finger nail polish remover. Look for those without acetone for the gentlest results. After getting rid of the polish, soak your hands in warm soapy water for ten minutes. This will soften your nails and skin to allow you to not only buff your nails better but also remove the unwanted cuticle areas. You can make your own homemade hand spa by filling a large bowl with warm water and adding a small amount of scented bath oil to the water. After soaking your hands, be sure to dry them completely. Buff Nails the Right Way To begin, grab your nail buffer and file your nails as you normally would (rounded, square or oval). With the roughest side of the buffer, start to buff your nails. Use a gently side-to-side motion when doing this. The main purpose of this phase is to smooth out any major ridges your nails may have. Next, use the next roughest side of your buffer and repeat the process. This will further work any ridges out of your nail area. To finish the buffing phase, utilize the smoothest part of the buffer to polish your nails until they shine. Be sure not to be too rough when you are using the first few sides of the buffer. These are meant to only be used gently on the nails. Being too aggressive can lead to a split or chip in the nail, which is almost always difficult to repair properly. Tips for Professional Salon Results After you’ve successfully buffed your nails, consider taking your homemade manicure to the next level. Grab your favorite lotion (with or without sun block) and a pair of clean cotton gloves (socks will work if you don’t have gloves). Lather your hands in the lotion, put them into the gloves and wait for ten minutes. When you pull your hands out, wash and dry them well. You will find they are incredibly natural and soft! Be sure to wipe your nails well, apply a top coat of polish and begin painting them in your desired color. Allow the first coat of polish to set and apply another thin coat. Finish with a top coat and allow it to dry.As you can see, getting beautiful nails doesn’t necessarily require an expensive trip to the salon. So, instead of spending money on artificial acrylic nails this season, consider taking the natural route and doing your nails and toe nails yourself at home!

Hair Loss

Natural Remedies for Hair Loss

There are different causes for hair falling. Most of the women experiences lots of hair loss after delivery, and many men go bald in their middle age. Hair loss or baldness can result from heredity, underlying medical condition, or even certain medications.
In normal case most people would shed 50 to 100 hairs, in a day. We have around 100,000 hairs on our scalp, so falling off, say 100 hairs a day wouldn’t cause us to go bald. But in extreme cases, due to different factors, shedding rate starts exceeding the rate of re-growth, then it can lead to thinning of hairs, or even baldness.
With ageing, it is natural for our hairs to thin out, gradually. But is there a way that we can make this process slow; or if hair loss is not due to ageing, but other factors, can it be stopped naturally?
Yes there are different home remedies which can prove to be very beneficial, in preventing or stopping untimely hair loss. Some of them are as mentioned below:

Gooseberry and Coconut Oil Remedy

Take some pieces of gooseberry, and boil them in pure coconut oil. Sieve the oil, and store the oil in a glass container. Apply this oil everyday on your scalp, massaging nicely with fingers in circular motion. This is a very effective remedy against baldness or hair loss.

Coconut Oil and Lime Juice

Daily application of Coconut oil mixed with lime or lemon juice can prevent hair loss, and at the same time ease dandruff.

Black Gram and Fenugreek

Cook the black gram and soak Fenugreek seeds for some hours. Now combine the two and make a paste of the mixture. Apply the paste from root to hair tips and after some time shampoo your hairs with a chemical free shampoo. This won’t only stop the hair loss, but also would lengthen the hairs.

Fenugreek Seeds

Soak Fenugreek seeds for some hours. Make a paste of seeds, by adding some water. Oil you hair, preferably with warm coconut oil and then apply this paste to the roots of hair nicely. Leave it on for at least one hour, and then wash. Repeat this process for a minimum of one month. This is an extremely effective remedy against the hair loss.

Liquorice

Take a piece of  Liquorice. Grind them into paste using milk, and also add a pinch of saffron. Applying this paste daily stimulates the hair growth.
